Protein Shake…




While training I have had to figure out a way to keep my nutrition in order and get my body the foods that it needs to perform.  This morning I thought I would venture out of my normal breakfast and find a new way to start my day.  I was successful!  I am now adding a new protein shake to the mix.  I would compare this to the Green Machine by Naked Juice, but this is my version:

Put this all in a blender:

  • Big handful of spinach
  • 1 cup of frozen fruit (I used pineapples)
  • 1/2 of a banana (Fresh or frozen)
  • 1 cup of coconut water (I used plain, but you could use any flavor)
  • 1 scoop of whatever protein you use

You may need to add more liquid if the blender is having a tough time.  Play around with the proportions because you may want a different consistency to your shake.  You can pretty much do anything with this and add any fruit.  Spinach is rich in vitamins and minerals, it is also concentrated in health-promoting phytonutrients such as carotenoids (beta-carotene, lutein, and zeaxanthin) and flavonoids to provide you with powerful antioxidant protection.
